Caring for Communities and People

Reaching out to local companies is important to us and that’s why last year we supported the charity CCP in many campaigns such as Hamper Scamper, Easter egg appeal, gift wrapping and the toiletries collection; as well as often dropping off snacks and treats to head office (we’re located on the same road!). CCP (Caring for Communities and People) is a local charity which exists to transform lives – supporting people who are homeless, intervening in situations where a young person may become homeless and assisting those who need it in underprivileged situations across the county.

During the festive season, the team took part in numerous activities to ensure everyone enjoyed a little sparkle this Christmas in aid of Hamper Scamper! All members of the team hit the shops for the perfect gift for an under-privileged child, ensuring they received a gift on Christmas day. FCCE even raided our own cupboards at home to produce an overflowing food bank which we later delivered and lent a hand sorting all the food donated by companies and individuals across Gloucestershire – a humongous total of 1671 hampers were distributed! We also assisted in another Hamper scamper campaign helping Cheltenham town shoppers by wrapping their presents for a voluntary donation which all went to families in need across the local community.

In 2018 we are looking to go bigger and better than ever, as we are also going to take part in the Cheltenham Challenge – a 5k,10k or half marathon route located around the beautiful Cheltenham Racecourse (The team have decided to do the 10k, as this leaves room for improvement!). Every year we support a charity by doing a team activity, so when we saw this pop into our inbox we knew it was perfect; it gives the team the flexibility of running, marshalling, manning water stations, or helping to run the day! Keep your eyes peeled for our fundraising efforts in the following months – we promise there will be comedy picture evidence!
