Race day will arrive for our champion #FCCE runners and riders in the Cheltenham Challenge on Sunday 17th June 2018. Following their fantastic showing last year in the BizFit Couch to Summit Challenge when they raised £825 for Cystic Fibrosis, they are aiming to raise the stakes again in 2018 for Cheltenham-based charity CCP (County Community Projects). CCP was founded in 1989 to support young homeless people in Cheltenham.

Having successfully climbed up and down the Malvern Hills to the equivalent height of Mount Everest in 2017, the team will face a 10k Challenge this year. The Cheltenham Challenge is a multi-terrain off-road ten-kilometre (6 mile approx.) route. The route uses both public footpaths and quiet village lanes surrounding the world-famous Cheltenham Racecourse in Prestbury. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle inclines. However, the going could well be tough. Bookies are forecasting the course could be anything from Good, Good to Soft or Heavy on the day!

Our team will be starting out at Cheltenham Racecourse. The route initially runs alongside the GWR Steam Railway before entering out into the countryside. The course then loops around north towards Southam and The Ellenborough Park Hotel, (a local 5 Star favourite), before heading south again towards and through Prestbury village, and onto the home straight.

We had fantastic support from our clients and friends last year and encourage you all to get involved and help motivate us again with the challenge this year. Each of our runners and riders are a mixed bag with unique strengths and abilities that may or may not assist them on the day. As we get closer to race day, we will be sharing their ‘form’ and chances in the challenge, using our social media platforms
