An email invite popped into my inbox and one little word jumped out at me: IBIZA! I had to re-read it several times and try to contain my excitement! We are very fortunate to be invited to some interesting and exciting destinations for industry exhibitions and educational trips; however this was definitely the most exciting opportunity that I had been given for a long while! Both Jas and I have been to Ibiza in the past and have very fond memories, so we eagerly put ourselves forward to attend the Private MICE Forum being held in Ibiza in May.

We arrived at Ibiza airport and had a very quick transfer of just 20 minutes to the Grand Palladium Hotel, located on the beachfront at Playa d’en Bossa. After checking in and a quick change, we joined the welcome party on the Rooftop at the ultra cool Ushuaia Tower. A refreshing glass of rose and a selection of delectable food carts were very much appreciated after our journey. A DJ accompanied by an electronic violinist, awesome sea views and impressive Martini cocktails certainly made for a fantastic party!

The hard work started the next day, with 15 ‘speed-dating’ appointments. We met with individual hotels from across Europe. This was a fantastic net-working and product knowledge opportunity. The afternoon session was a fun team building activity of beach games! It definitely got competitive and was physically challenging playing beach volleyball, Frisbee and water games – although it was a lot of fun!

That evening the theme was ‘Flower Power’ and everyone made a brilliant effort – it certainly was a floral affair! We were taken by coach to Atzaro, a beautiful ‘agri-tourism’ venue located deep in the countryside. Welcome drinks and canapés were enjoyed as the sun was setting, followed by a three course seated dinner. Afterwards we enjoyed the skills of the Glitter Artists (facial glitter decoration) and partied to a cool DJ who played a mixture of genres to keep everyone happy!

Another 15 hotel meetings followed the next morning and the event closed with a delicious lunch at the Grand Palladium.

We made arrangements to stay on for an extra night in Ibiza at Ushuaia Tower, where we spent Saturday relaxing by the pool, listening to a DJ and live saxophonist.  It was a fantastic net-working experience and has certainly enhanced our knowledge of all that Ibiza has to offer for corporate events as well as individual European hotels.

Ibiza has several new hotels opening in 2017 and is a fantastic location for a corporate event with so much to offer – it’s far more than just clubs and nightlife! Please do contact us if you’d like to consider Ibiza for your next event and we’d be delighted to help.
