Kate, what do you enjoy the most about working for First Choice Conference & Events?
The people! My colleagues are a great bunch and as a group I think we work really well together whilst having some fun at times too. I look forward to going to work to spend time with them which I think is a pretty unique situation!
What three items or virtues are essential to your job?
A calculator; unfortunately I’m not rain man so definitely need a little assistance with my calculations!
The ability to work calmly and in a methodical fashion which luckily is me to a tee!
A LOT of tea (and chocolate)! I’ve been thinking about bringing my own personal teapot in just to keep me going but I think everyone might get jealous.
What is the best experience you have had at First Choice Conference & Events and why?
Probably a driving experience that I took part in during my first week with the company! I was quite nervous as I’d never done any sort of track racing before and certainly not driven a car worth so much money! But it was a lot of fun and I’d definitely do it again, it was exhilarating.
Which is your favourite venue and why?
Clearwell Castle has to be my top venue as it is where I got married, I was a real life princess for the day AND I didn’t even have to kiss a frog! If I had to choose a second venue it would be Center Parcs Longleat as it’s the sort of place that encourages you outdoors plus it has an incredible spa, oh and I got engaged there too!
What’s your top tip for doing your job?
As you can imagine, accuracy is pretty essential when doing accounts so making sure I check everything I do is very important, a decimal point in the wrong place could lead to disaster!
