Here at First Choice Conference & Events, we take pride in recommending the best venues for our client’s briefs, through our knowledge and expertise. A key part of our role is to have unrivalled product knowledge of brands, venues and refurbishments which are constantly changing within our industry, so we can let you, our clients, know what’s happening too. The team invest a lot of time in extending their product knowledge through familiarisation trips and site visits and we would like to share some recent experiences with you.

Magdalen, Milly and I recently visited a luxurious property, in Chippenham, Wiltshire called Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa. The Cotswolds are a key booking destination for us, due to the location of many of our clients, highlighting the importance to know as many venues within this area as possible. Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa has many impressive amenities and services such as Michelin star and award-winning restaurant, 4 meeting spaces, spa, indoor and outdoor gym, cookery school and riding stables. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend this hotel for an incentive retreat or executive board meeting, it really has a special wow factor. We extended our trip to visit 3 Cotswold Inn properties on our route home, The Hare and Hounds, The Close and Bear of Rodborough, all of which have great character, traditional bedrooms and the ‘countryside’ feel.

Last weekend we were off out on the road again when 5 members of the team, Laura, Ross, Heather, Milly and I were power walking around London seeing an impressive total of 9 venues. We split into teams and blitzed the Park Lane and Mayfair area seeing a mix of traditional and modern hotels and restaurants such as Sexy Fish, Radisson Blu Portman and the Sheraton Grand. Seeing London venues is essential to the team as its our most popular booking destination and home to around 50% of our clients, meaning when we do make the trip from Cheltenham we ensure its super worthwhile! London is also exciting to visit as its continually changing with new venues popping up weekly as its one of the fastest growing cities in the world.  We stayed overnight at the Royal Lancaster (just behind Lancaster Gate tube station and an incredible Thai restaurant – Nipa) which had magnificent views over Hyde park and large contemporary meeting spaces.

If you would like to see more pictures of our trips we would be delighted to share them with you, they are often uploaded across our social media. But for now, where shall we go next?..
