The Value of Trust in Business

What is trust? Defined by Oxford Dictionary, trust is the ‘firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something’. This couldn’t ring truer within our team. And the following quote is everything we believe in when it comes to trust:

“Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.”
Stephen Covey

So, what do you look for in trust? Whether it’s in our own employees, or our clients, there are certain things we look for which help forge trusting relationships and the value they bring.

Reputation:

Whether it’s through brand reputation or personal reputation, everyone and everything has a reputation. And it’s that reputation that helps people choose what to buy and who to work with.
We understand that event planners only want to be associated with suppliers who have a good reputation, with values that suit their company culture. That ‘brand fit’ is one stepping stone to a successful partnership.

Loyalty:

Again, loyalty fits with both our internal team as well as our clients. With our team, we’re proud of the fact that we have high staff retention and many of our employees have been with us for years. Some have left for different reasons; travelling, families, new challenges, and then returned to us. We believe this is largely due to the family culture we’ve built within the business.
This family culture extends to our clients who we’ve worked with for over 10 years. The loyalty we have developed gives them the confidence that they’re working with people they can trust – and that goes a long way.

Here are some of the kind words one of our clients recently shared with us…
“We have worked with ‘First Choice Conference & Events’ for 8 years now. We are a small charity with very specific requirements, particularly around accessibility for lots of wheelchair users. Dan Sweet has built up great expertise in this area over the years, and offers a bespoke service – he knows our needs very well and he works hard to find us the most appropriate hotels and packages. We completely trust First Choice Conference & Events with all our events, and we hope to continue working with them into the future.”

Budget:

In a challenging time and with concerns around Brexit, we give our clients assurances that we look after their budget. We always find cost-effective ways to deliver quality events. By building strong relationships with a wide supplier base; from hotels, venues, team-building suppliers – to name a few – we’re able to negotiate preferential rates and value for our clients.

Our business is built on trust; trust between us as a team, and our clients’ trust in us – it’s a two-way process. Our clients trust that we will deliver a high-quality service at every stage of the process. And, in return for delivering an exceptional service, we trust that our clients will leave us to work our magic – from finding the perfect venue, to contracting and delivering a full service. So, we think of our clients as part of the First Choice family, and we’d like to think they feel the same.

The trust we’ve built in our relationships with clients has led to us being five times winners of the Meetings and Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards. We’d love to retain our gold crown for another year. So, if you’re a client reading this blog, and it resonates with you – why not cast your vote for us to be Best Intermediary Agency?
