the evolution of FCCE!

We’ve been making history since 1995, and unlike The Walkman, Justin & Britney and dial up internet, we’re continuing to! See where we’ve come from, and be part of where we’re going.

    where it all began!

On agreeing a management buy-out Penny moved the business into her parents’ home occupying 2 bedrooms, working with a core team Penny, Claire & Sara. It felt surreal, working from her childhood bedroom, but exhilarating working with corporates like Cyanamid Agriculture, BAA Heathrow, Daily Mail, Daewoo, Saunders Valve & Vistage, formally TEC International. Memorable projects included the Nissan Challenge 96 Grand Final at Alton Towers Hotel, The World Dairy Forum for the Dairy Industry Federation in Windsor and AT&T’s National Sales Conference at the fantastic Gleneagles Resort Hotel. The team became Gill, Emma, Karen and Julie and in 1998, Penny moved from her parents’ home into the Trafalgar Court and this remained our base for 14 years.

  • 2000-2004

things are starting to get big!

Our clients continue to grow with some amazing brands on board – Envirowise, Kidde plc, ECITB and Alstom Signalling. Everything is starting to feel very high tech as The World Wide Web becomes mainstream and we launch our very first Website! Gemma joins the team after graduating in 2001 and Dan and Magdalen both start on the same day in 2004 and remain part of the team! We managed some fantastic events including Renault’s National Product Launch of the Scenic RX4. We took over Alton Towers exclusively for Marlborough Sterling to have a team building event. And lastly, we cannot forget the arrival of Frey Frey, Pen’s Maltese Terrier who kept us all amused in the office!

  • 2005-2007

    the nations favourite!

In 2005 Dorian starts marketing the business and clients are introduced such as AAT, who we are lucky to have as one of our largest clients over the years. Aged 18 we recruit Stacey (now one of our amazing clients). Dan sets off with Southco Europe to manage their Board of Directors Meeting, spread over 4 locations whilst Penny works with the Sea Fish Authority on the Fish & Chip Shop Awards for 300 guests – who doesn’t love fish & chips! We continue to work on this event which has grown to 600. In 2007 we’re excited to recruit both Kate and Karen, both are with us today and remain the best of friends, we’re certainly growing now!

  • 2008-2010

    we have a new department!

The team are joined by Laura and Ross as we continue to work with more clients, including Bax Global, Questionmark, Virgin Management, Evolve Partners & Forte Dodge Animal Health Care. We organised the Daily Mail’s Christmas Party at the new Baglioni Hotel, a Beach Party for the BBC at Cotswold Water Park and Dan travels to South Africa to manage a group for Actavis. Cheryl and Gemma are recruited to launch a new sales department, Gemma left for a few years to focus on growing her family, it was great to have her back. The business bags its first award for ‘Small Agent of the Year’, from the HBAA but more importantly Magdalen marries Mark and Penny marries Ian.

  • 2011-2013

    we're on the move!

We got the travelling bug and go on to manage several events for our clients further afield. We headed to Barcelona for Swiss Precision Diagnostics Sales & Marketing Conference, Brussels for the Questionmark European Users Conference and Istanbul for the Alstom People Quest event. We got the love bug too and celebrated the weddings of Dan to Holly, Cheryl to Dan (not the same Dan!) and Laura to Carl. Carly joined the team in May 2012 which meant we needed more space for our ever growing team and we took the plunge and heading to our lovely new office in Royal Crescent, whilst also giving the company a fresh look and rebrand.

  • 2014-2015

    It's party time!

Now a team of 8 and we’ve settled nicely into our new office but we’re ready for our next challenge. “I know” Penny said… let’s go for the Investors in People Award. We aimed high and set our hearts on Gold – we do like a nice Gold Award you see. The entire process was fantastic, and we were certainly proud of our achievements, and there we had it another Gold to our name. We started 2015 welcoming a new placement student, Jas and who would have known that 7 months later we would welcome her back as an official team member. It was time to celebrate a fantastic year and what better excuse than our 20th anniversary!

  • 2016-2017

as we grow, so does our website!

After welcoming Heather to the team during her placement year we also welcomed Chloe, who worked on a rather fantastic Launch Event at the stunning Wood Norton Hotel which included a driving adventure in the beautiful surroundings of Eastnor Castle. Behind the scenes Penny, Dan and Cheryl put together the final touches to our new website. We didn’t stop there, a team of industry colleagues, office members and 1 dog climbed to the top of the virtual Summit of Mount Everest completing the 8,848 metre climb, raising money for one of our wonderful clients. It was a busy time for new starters and in 2017 we took on not one but two new recruits – Polly and Milly.

  • 2018-2019

    our newest recruits.

We could not have got to where we are now without having a fantastic team behind us. It’s not an easy task finding a new team member – remember not all superhero’s wear capes so we have to look high and low, once we even travelled all the way to Singapore, ok so it might have been virtually but we did what we had to do. Over the years you might have noticed a bit of a pattern in our recruitment process, we don’t just find one fabulous Superhero, we find two and in August 2019 we did it again. Along came Katie and Ele, our newest recruits!

  • 2020

    so here we are...

We’ve made it to 2020 and the year started off with a bang, we are delighted to have won our 5th Gold M&IT award but since then what a year it’s turned out to be! Like any great event organiser, we had so many fantastic events planned to celebrate our 25th year in style with our loyal fans. Who would have known we would be hit by a global pandemic and finding ourselves getting use to the ‘new normal’ and having to raise a glass (or two) over Zoom instead! We remain positive though and cannot wait to visit every one of you again soon and even more exciting – showing you all our fabulous new office – watch this space!
