First Choice Conferences & Events have supported the Society with venue searches, negotiations, site visits and final agreements for our annual conference for over 12 years. We have always found their team to have an excellent understanding both of suppliers, and of our requirements so that only relevant solutions are proposed.  They have made the process of liaising with and meeting with venues much more straightforward than if we were managing it ourselves and have saved us much time and effort over the years.

Using First Choice definitely takes a lot of the pain away from that initial looking, at what can often be a minefield when there are so many event spaces available. The main emotion I’d say I feel is relief, especially when sourcing a venue and having the support of you and the team in finalising details and taking the main negotiations away, this means I can focus on other aspects of planning my events.

This was our first time working with First Choice Conference & Events – we asked them to organise and manage our 21st Annual Conference and Awards Dinner. Dan and Laura from FCCE took all the hassle away and made our event plans come to life. The location, AV, service and all the extras for the evening were all great and our guests loved it. 2020
We had the pleasure of working with First Choice Conference & Events for the livestreaming of two of our virtual conferences in 2020. The first in July was a straightforward half day conference involving 5 speakers which went extremely smoothly. The second was a highly complicated event with an AGM first thing in the morning, followed by a full day conference involving 9 UK based speakers, and one based in Israel.

The half hour AGM involved pre-recorded videos, with officers being commended to their new positions and voting taking place. The conference, along with switching from the chairman to each speaker throughout the day, also involved interaction with pre-recorded videos also slotted in throughout the day. I cannot thank Mike, Wayne and the team enough for their input and the way they nursed us through what was a completely new world to us. They were helpful from the start, explaining thoroughly how it would all come together on the day and everything went to plan perfectly.

2021
Due to the success of our events in 2020, we have now used First Choice Conference & Events for our National Conference this year with 200 delegates in attendance. Once again, this was delivered seamlessly with eleven speakers, one being the very high profile CEO of Savills UK Ltd. All the speakers were very impressed with the way they were helped by Mike. There were also pre recorded videos which were included seamlessly throughout the day. One of our major sponsors has said that of all the virtual events that he had attended over the past 18 months, this was the most professional and seamless that he had seen.

This was our first time working with First Choice Conference & Events – we asked them to design and facilitate our virtual Christmas party. The standard of personal care and service was very high throughout. Our facilitator was warm, funny, and kept us all under control. What was most impressive was the tech that wrapped around out event – the app was slick and easy to use and the fed seamlessly into the event itself and the follow up documentation. I had a great relationship with Laura, who was always reassuring and calm when dealing with my random requests. When she went on maternity leave, I was apprehensive about my point of contact changing (rocking the boat and all that!) but Milly has been absolutely superb.

I have just had the pleasure of spending the day with Heather, who is another amazing credit to your company. She was professional, enthusiastic and you could tell she really has a passion for what she does.

Every single member of the FCCE team that I have dealt with has been super friendly, very knowledgeable and no request has ever been too last minute or too random. As always, working with Ross from First Choice Conference & Events was an absolute pleasure. From the initial contact to source a venue through to the delivery of the event on the day, Ross was professional, approachable and very capable. Nothing was too much trouble, and despite several phone calls and emails (often during the course of one day) always maintained his cool.

As an Event Management company we work with a fair few companies like First Choice Conference & Events. However we now tend to use them as our go-to. Milly and Laura assisted us in finding a brilliant hotel for our huge one day event of a Conference, an Exhibition, and an Awards evening. They introduced us to a great AV company who were brilliant! They also managed to lower the cost of the AV in order to meet our clients’ budget. Milly even attended the event to say hi and check that everything was going well. Milly has also worked with us venue finding for various other events and we’ve always been really happy with First Choice Conference & Events services. Laura at First Choice Conference & Events could not have been more helpful during the planning and execution of our company summer party. This is the second time we have worked with the FCCE team on our summer party and it certainly did not disappoint! Ross at First Choice could not have been more supportive in sourcing a location for our Marketing offsite meeting; taking into consideration all our requirements; he ensured that before the event a relationship had been built between ourselves and the team at the hotel – The Wood Norton, this meant that all the small detail was taken care of, allowing us to enjoy and engage in our event – superstar support as always!

Well, what can I say other than it was a huge success all round! The feedback from the teams has been overwhelming positive.

Stanbrook Abbey as a venue scored 4.7/5 on our feedback survey, which is the highest I think I have ever got. They absolutely went out of their way to get everything right and the new meeting facilities in St Anne’s Hall really make it as a meeting venue. The refurbishment by Handpicked is worth every penny and I’m sure I will be back there again – couldn’t recommend them enough. It is a truly wow venue for this type of event.

The team building was a big success, despite the damp weather. Lots of people have cited it as being one of the highlights of the two days and it certainly brought out the competitive element! The team were brilliant, really professional but fun and kept the teams on track and as honest as they could. Great mix of games and there was a lot of laughter and good natured cries of “cheat” from across the field.

The band were really great and added a lot of atmosphere which just made the dinner.

Thank you for helping me to put together a truly memorable event. We now need to top it for next year – best get thinking caps on!

We had a postponement at very late notice this week, which Polly dealt with efficiently, without any panic and saved the firm lots of money! This has really helped me with “selling” First Choice internally as a real life example of the value you guys add.

We approached First Choice when we needed help with organising our ten years in business and charity launch event and we are so grateful we did. Within an hour we had been contacted by Jasmine, our friendly and professional account manager, who took our requirements and sent us several options within 24 hours and very soon had our venue and package booked. When we were urgently contacted by the venue within 24 hours of the event to tell us of some unavoidable changes to our plans, Jasmine went out of her way at such short notice to sort out all the changes and used the First Choice national contacts at the venue to revise the agreement and negotiate new, more favourable terms, which allowed us to simply focus on ensuring the best evening for our guests. The event was a great success and Jasmine called the next day to talk through which we really appreciated – customer services of the highest level. First Choice come highly recommended from us.

I have been working with Ross from First Choice about 4/5 years now. He takes the stress out of venue searches and saves me loads of time. He presents multiple ideas, it makes event planning so much more fun when you have the team of First Choice on hand. All activities and dinners went very well- I have just received feedback from our guests, they absolutely loved the smallcarBIGCITY car- they were made to feel like celebrities so thank you for that! They also said the cruise was excellent! All in all they had a wonderful time.

I have received really positive feedback regarding the venue, the food and the atmosphere at the venue and wanted to pass this on. We all had a really great day, everything ran really smoothly and the catering was delicious.

Working with Chloe and the First Choice team was the difference between a good conference and a great one.
