30 delegates allowed!
On Saturday 1st August 2020, the Prime Minister announced, ‘meetings of up to 30 people can now take place’. This was music to our ears! We hugely value face-to-face interaction within the events industry and believe it is paramount for effective communication in business. First Choice Conference & Events are ensuring we are up to date with government guidance so that we can assist our clients in holding their upcoming events safely.
So how has this changed how venues can run events? Firstly, social distancing of 1 meter plus is being enforced, so delegates will be seated a suitable and safe distance from each other. For any new event enquiries, we will therefore ensure we detail the maximum capacities of all space proposed including these social distancing measures. In addition to social distancing measures, venues have also put in place huge numbers of safety measures, these include enhanced cleaning measures, sanitiser stations, one-way systems, different entrances and exits, staggered breaks, amended catering menus to allow for individually wrapped items, removal of unnecessary items in meeting rooms, screens at reception desks, trained staff and contactless payments.
Please note, the most recent government announcement on the 11th September 2020 limiting social interactions to groups of 6 or less does not apply to Covid-secure venues, therefore, hotels that are open and have passed Covid safety standards are still able to continue to run your small events for under 30 people!
For events over 30 delegates the industry is hoping that these will be authorised by the government from 1st October, this is currently under review, however, we remain positive that Britain will get meeting again! We understand that it will take some time to get back to normal, however, we will ensure we are constantly monitoring government and public health advise as the safety of our clients and their delegates is paramount.
